You're not feeling good, again. What do you do?
You run to the medicine cabinet to see which pill
you have available for this particular ailment.
Rummaging through all the bottles and packages, you
finally find the right pill and take it.
You wait
a while and start to feel a little better. You
decide this will have to do and go about your
business. Your concentration level is bad today
but you justify that by the fact that you are sick
and you also have medicine head. These things are to
be expected and you will have to live with them.
Let's take a look at what is going on in your
body. Some 'bug' got a hold of you and your immune
system wasn't strong enough to fight it off. Your
body is working double time to eliminate the virus
or bacteria. Then you take some pill. This pill is
yet another foreign substance that you body has to
deal with.
Your immune system doesn't understand that you
added these chemicals to make you feel better. It
only understands that this is not a part of your
body chemistry so it must get rid of it. Now your
already overworked and run down immune system has to
work three times as hard to make you well again.
No wonder you are tired and can't think straight.
There is only so much one body can do at one time.
Adding your pill just made things worse. What is
the alternative? The first thing you should do is
concentrate on staying healthy. Eating right is a
great start but nearly impossible with today's
lifestyles. How about supplementing your poor diet
with some vitamins? Your body obviously needs more
than you are giving it. A good multi vitamin is a
good place to begin. Next you will have to take a
look at your lifestyle. Are you under a lot of
stress? Do you get enough sleep? Do you ever relax?
It may be impossible to reduce stress in the work
place but it is possible to find a few moments for
yourself to just relax.
It is necessary for you body to relax and sleep
in order for you to rejuvenate. Find 10 or 15
minutes during the day that will be just for you. No
outside distractions of any kind. You think this
can't be done but you have to find the time. It is
very important for your health. Think of it like
this, if you take 10 minutes each day for you, you
will not have to spend 3-4 days in bed every few
months when you are sick again. How do you manage to
find the time to be sick?
Set yourself a bedtime and stick to it. Most
often we get run down because we just don't get
enough sleep. A good method to be sure you will get
to bed on time is to set a night time schedule.
About a half hour to an hour before 'bedtime' start
your nighttime routine. After a week or two of
following this routine, your body will start
recognizing this as time to start relaxing. By the
time you get to bed, you will be ready for sleep.
This really does work very well, try it. Now it's
time to build your immune system. If you don't know
this, you body is designed to fight off bacteria and
viruses when you come into contact with them. When
your immune system is run down, it is all you can do
to maintain life. Forget about fighting off
anything. Start by adding some yogurt to your
daily diet. If you have been eating junk food and
taking prescription drugs, your intestines probably
don't have any decent amount of beneficial bacteria
left. This beneficial bacteria in your intestines is
what your body uses to keep you healthy. After years
of abuse, you have probably all but eliminated this
bacteria. If you don't like yogurt, you can
supplement your diet with acidophilus. You can buy
this in almost any vitamin section of any store. It
is paramount in recovering your health system. If
you don't do anything else that I am recommending
here, do this! If you really want to get serious
about your health, you should do a good colon
cleansing. This can be done with supplements and
does not require a trip to the doctor's office. Most
people who do cleanse their colon will find that
they lose 10 to 20 pounds of built up gunk from
their intestines. Talk about easy weight loss...
Finally, to help your body build itself back up to
where it should be, start taking (almost) daily
doses of Echinacea. (Echinacea should be take 6 out
of 7 days a week.) This will increase your natural
immune system and you won't even know when you came
in contact with a 'bug'. Echinacea can be found in
any vitamin section of any store. Acidophilus and
Echinacea are both natural supplements that will
work in harmony with your body. Your system will not
try to fight these supplements off like it does with
the other pills you have been taking.
Follow this advice and one day you will wake up
and think, WOW, I haven't been sick for a whole year
now! Then two years, and three years... You will
have more energy than you have had since childhood.
You can finally clean out that medicine cabinet
because you won't even think about using any of
those pills anymore. It is not natural to be sick
several times a year. If you have come to accept
illness as a normal part of life, you have some work
to do. Get your health back and start enjoying every
minute of your life. NOTE: If you are under the
care of a health practitioner, you should always
check with him or her before changing your routine.
